Parks

Greenbelt Park, less than five miles west of Lanham, features 174 campsites. Open year-round and available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the campground includes bathroom and shower facilities. The wooded park also offers four hiking trails measuring nearly nine miles, three picnic areas, and various playgrounds. Lanham Forest Community Park lies in the heart of the city. The park offers a host of different recreational facilities, including two tennis courts, a basketball court, a baseball field, and a multi-purpose soccer and football field. Outdoor Recreation

Four and a half miles east of Lanham, Glenn Dale Golf Club (glenndalegolfclub.com) dates back to 1956. The semi-private, 18-hole golf course features green rolling hills, multiple lakes, and tree-lined thoroughfares. The 19th Hole Lounge offers drinks, light snacks, patio seating, and two televisions. This is an excellent spot for those who love trying challenging holes.
