Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation Video

Dr. Imran Siddiqui from Regenerative Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (ROSM) sat down to speak with Dr. Paul Ruff and Dr. Justin Cohen about the importance of musculoskeletal ultrasound and how it is changing the way procedures are done in regards to physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.

At Regenerative Orthopedic and Sports Medicine (ROSM), we have based our practices around the science of musculoskeletal ultrasound. This technique offers us so much valuable information about the conditions of our patients. It is an integral part of our physical medicine and rehabilitation protocols and we believe we are pioneering a change in the way that practitioners conduct procedures all across the country.

Benefits Of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Firstly, it allows us to see the inner workings of the troubled area, like a knee or elbow joint. This allows us to make accurate and comprehensive diagnoses of conditions. It is an incredible tool that enables us to locate the primary issue, while also ensuring there aren’t any additional underlying issues. Our diagnostics can save patients from being misdiagnosed, while our therapies can save people from surgery.

Secondly, musculoskeletal ultrasounds have drastically improved the accuracy and efficacy of our injection procedures. Serving as an image guidance tool, it allows us to be extremely accurate when performing any of our regenerative therapies. We provide a range of regenerative therapies like Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) injections as well as Micronized Adipose injections for larger tendon tears and knee arthritis.
