Alan Hyman, MD

Alan Hyman is a board-certified in Family Medicine and non-surgical Sports Medicine Physician. Acting mostly as a Team Physician for Texas Tech University Red Raiders and assisting with the University of North Florida Ospreys during his post-graduate training, Dr. Hyman has provided care from elementary school-age to professional athletes. After graduating from Ross University, he completed his Family Medicine training at St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency in Jacksonville, Florida. He served as Chief Resident of his Residency Program during his final year also while receiving an Award for an additional area of Concentration in Sports Medicine. Dr. Hyman then completed his advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. He provided sports coverage and musculoskeletal non-surgical care to surrounding colleges and high schools. 

Dr. Hyman’s approach to patient care focuses on the individual’s specific health care needs and desired health outcomes. Whether the patient wishes to return to their high-level competitive sport or just routine physical activity, Dr. Hyman works closely with these patients to achieve their goals. By utilizing joint decision making with physician and patient, Dr. Hyman uses a multidisciplinary approach including his knowledge in sports medicine, rehabilitation therapy, ultrasound, and regenerative options to provide optimal care to accomplish the patient’s musculoskeletal goals.  

Athletics was a large part of the Hyman household growing up so Dr. Hyman understands the importance of wanting to perform at a high level of physical activity. He recognizes the importance of balancing injury prevention and with managing acute and chronic injuries. 

When Dr. Hyman is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, watching sports of all varieties and playing golf.
